1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to the supply of flooring products and associated services provided by The Carpet Project ("we", "us", "our") to customers ("you", "your").
By requesting a quotation, placing an order or instructing us to provide flooring installation or related services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, together with the specific quotation, order confirmation or other written agreement provided to you.
Where there is a conflict between these Terms & Conditions and a specific written agreement provided to you, the specific written agreement will take precedence to the extent of that conflict.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Our Services
The Carpet Project is a mobile flooring company providing flooring products and related services, including:

  • Free, no-obligation home estimates.

  • Home measurement and assessment of floor areas.

  • A selection of carpet and other flooring samples.

  • Supply of carpets and other flooring products.

  • Professional flooring installation.

  • Carpet removal and disposal for an additional charge.

  • Assistance with available financing options, subject to eligibility and the terms of the relevant finance provider.

  • Manufacturer warranties where applicable.

Our flooring specialists will normally visit your property, measure the relevant floor space, discuss your requirements, provide samples and prepare a quotation.
A quotation does not constitute acceptance of an order unless expressly stated otherwise.

3. Free Estimates and Quotations
Our initial estimates are provided free of charge and without obligation.
Measurements taken during a home visit are intended to provide an accurate basis for quotation. However, final quantities may need to be adjusted where circumstances become apparent after furniture has been moved, existing flooring has been removed or the installation area becomes accessible.
A quotation will normally specify the products, quantities, installation services and other charges included.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, quotations are subject to acceptance within the period stated on the quotation.
We reserve the right to correct obvious typographical, pricing or calculation errors before an order is accepted.

4. Product Samples, Colours and Appearance
We may provide physical samples to assist you in selecting your flooring.
Colours and textures shown on samples, photographs, screens or other promotional material may vary slightly from the final installed product due to lighting, manufacturing batches, display conditions and screen settings.
Natural or manufactured flooring products may contain variations in colour, texture, pile, pattern or appearance. Such variations do not necessarily constitute a defect where they fall within reasonable manufacturer tolerances.
Where pattern matching or particular product characteristics are important to you, these requirements should be discussed with our flooring specialist before placing your order.

5. Placing an Order
An order becomes binding when it has been accepted by The Carpet Project and any required deposit, payment or finance arrangement has been successfully completed or otherwise agreed.
We may require a deposit or other payment before ordering flooring products.
Where products are specially ordered, made to measure or otherwise purchased specifically for your requirements, cancellation and return rights may be affected by applicable consumer law. We will provide relevant information before your order is confirmed.
You should check the quotation and order confirmation carefully before accepting the order, including:

  • Product and colour selection.

  • Measurements and quantities.

  • Installation requirements.

  • Additional services.

  • Price and payment arrangements.

  • Any agreed timescales.

  • Any specific customer requirements.

6. Prices and Additional Charges
The price payable will be the price stated in your quotation or order confirmation, subject to any agreed changes.
Additional charges may apply for services or circumstances not included in the original quotation, including, where applicable:

  • Removal of existing carpet or flooring.

  • Disposal of old flooring.

  • Moving furniture where this has not been included in the quotation.

  • Additional floor preparation.

  • Repairs or preparation required to the subfloor.

  • Additional materials required due to unforeseen conditions.

  • Work outside the originally quoted area.

  • Additional fitting requirements requested after the quotation has been accepted.

We will normally discuss additional work and associated charges with you before carrying out the additional work.

7. Existing Flooring and Subfloors
Before installation, the existing flooring and underlying surface may need to be inspected.
Installation can depend upon the condition, suitability and accessibility of the subfloor.
If we identify issues such as damp, uneven surfaces, damaged flooring, contamination, structural problems or other conditions that may affect installation, we may recommend remedial work before installation proceeds.
Additional preparation work may incur an additional charge where it was not included in the original quotation.
The Carpet Project cannot be responsible for defects or damage caused by underlying conditions that could not reasonably be identified before installation.

8. Furniture and Access
You should ensure that the areas to be fitted are reasonably accessible before the agreed installation date.
Unless expressly included in your quotation, customers should remove personal possessions, fragile items and small or valuable objects from the installation area.
If furniture moving has not been included, we may require furniture to be moved by the customer before installation.
We reserve the right to postpone or stop installation where safe access cannot be provided or where conditions at the property present an unreasonable health and safety risk.

9. Installation
We provide professional carpet and flooring installation using trained and experienced installers.
Installation times vary according to the size and complexity of the project, product availability, preparation requirements and other circumstances.
As a general guide, installation is often completed approximately 7 days from confirmation of an order, subject to product availability, scheduling and the requirements of the individual project.
Any installation date or timeframe provided is an estimate unless expressly agreed in writing as a guaranteed date.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed of significant delays.

10. Carpet Removal and Disposal
We offer carpet removal and disposal for an additional charge.
If you request this service, the applicable charge will normally be included in your quotation or agreed before the work is undertaken.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, removal and disposal applies only to the flooring specified in the quotation.
We cannot accept responsibility for damage to hidden or underlying surfaces that occurs as an unavoidable consequence of removing existing flooring, where such damage could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.

11. Finance
We may offer or facilitate flexible financing options through an appropriate finance provider.
Finance is subject to eligibility, approval and the terms and conditions of the relevant finance provider.
The Carpet Project does not guarantee that an individual customer will be approved for finance.
Where finance is arranged through a third party, the finance agreement will be governed by the finance provider's own terms.
Customers should read the relevant finance agreement carefully before entering into it.

12. Manufacturer Warranties
Some carpets and flooring products may benefit from a manufacturer's warranty.
Where applicable, we will provide information about the relevant manufacturer's warranty.
Manufacturer warranties may contain specific requirements concerning installation, maintenance, cleaning and use.
A manufacturer's warranty is separate from your statutory rights against the retailer and does not replace those rights.

13. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information required for the quotation and installation.

  • Provide reasonable access to the property.

  • Ensure the installation area is reasonably accessible.

  • Tell us about any known issues affecting the floor or property.

  • Follow reasonable care and maintenance instructions supplied with the flooring.

  • Make payments when due.

  • Ensure that any relevant permissions required for the work have been obtained.

You should notify us as soon as possible if circumstances change that may affect the installation.

14. Payment
Payment arrangements will be confirmed at the time of order.
Where a deposit is required, the amount and payment date will be stated in the quotation or order confirmation.
The balance will normally become payable in accordance with the payment terms agreed with you.
We may delay installation or delivery where agreed payments have not been made, subject to applicable law and the terms of your contract.

15. Cancellation and Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights depending on how and where the contract was made and the nature of the goods or services supplied.
Where a contract is entered into at a distance or away from our business premises, specific consumer cancellation rules may apply. We will provide the information required by law where those rules apply.
Certain goods or services may be subject to legal exceptions or limitations, including products made to the customer's specifications or services that have been fully performed in circumstances where the applicable legal requirements for loss of cancellation rights have been met.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict any statutory cancellation right that you are legally entitled to exercise.
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us promptly:
Telephone: 01332 492409
WhatsApp: 07774 695623
Email: info@thecarpetproject.co.uk
Any cancellation will be handled in accordance with the applicable consumer legislation and the terms of your individual contract.

16. Defects, Faults and Complaints
We aim to provide flooring and installation services to a high standard.
If you believe that a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, or that an installation service has not been carried out correctly, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide details of the issue and, where useful, photographs.
We will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a reasonable remedy in accordance with your statutory rights and the terms of your contract.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights in relation to faulty, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods or services.

17. Damage and Access Issues
We will take reasonable care when working at your property.
However, you should inform us before installation of any known hazards, concealed pipes, cables, fragile surfaces or other circumstances that may affect the work.
We are not responsible for damage resulting from information that you failed to provide where that information was reasonably necessary to carry out the work safely.

18. Delays and Events Outside Our Control
We will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed installation times.
We will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including significant supplier delays, product shortages, transport problems, severe weather, industrial action, property access problems, unforeseen subfloor conditions or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been anticipated or prevented.
Where a significant delay occurs, we will seek to communicate with you and agree a revised arrangement.

19. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, we will not be responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.

20. Complaints Procedure
If you have a complaint, please contact us using:
Email: info@thecarpetproject.co.uk
Telephone: 01332 492409
WhatsApp: 07774 695623
Please provide your name, address, order details and a description of the issue where possible.
We will review the complaint and aim to work with you to reach a reasonable resolution.

21. Privacy and Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how we protect it and the rights available to individuals.

22. Cookies and Website Use
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies.
Further information about the cookies we use and how you can manage your preferences is provided in our Cookies Policy.

23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applicable to your order will generally be those provided to you at the time your contract is formed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.

24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Where you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rights applicable to you under the law.
